Minister calls to crush terrorism

Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Champika Ranawaka addressing a Sri Lankan audience in Britain called upon the British Government and its’ politicians, the European Union and USA to take stern action against LTTE terrorists who commit genocide on Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim people of Sri Lanka.

He warned the audience that following his observations and remarks the LTTE’s Tamilnet could exaggerate casualty figures in the future. The Minister said: LTTE terrorists would be defeated in the near future and explained in detail the operations by the Security Forces.

He pointed out that over 826 innocent civilians were butchered by the LTTE terrorists during July 2006 to December 2008.

He also appealed to the British Government and politicians including their counterparts in Europe and the USA before accusing the Sri Lankan Government of human rights violations and allowing the LTTE terrorists to hold rallies and propaganda meetings despite the ban imposed on them, they should take stern action against the LTTE terrorists who commit genocide against the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims of Sri Lanka.

He cautioned the Sri Lankan community that after this revelation Tamilnet may exaggerate the casualty figures in the future.

The Minister appealed to the Sri Lankan Diaspora community to cooperate to defeat terrorism by avoiding destructive strategies created by the LTTE terrorists and their agents.

The JHU UK branch meeting was held at Kingsgate Community, West London. The meeting was graced by Ven. Kahaththewela Chandrajothi Thera, Ven. Ananda Mangala Thera and Ven. Deepaloka Thera. JHU UK President Dr. R. M. B. Ranatunge, Vice President Ira Mediwaka, JHU UK Secretary Anoma Silva and committee members participated. The meeting was attended by JHU’s International Affairs Secretary Narendra Gunatillake.
