The true meaning of Christmas
Christmas is a joyous season where Christians all over the world
celebrate. It is a time to exchange gifts, do shopping, visit loved
ones, and indulge in various activities.
But there is a deeper meaning to Christmas than all these.
The true meaning of Christmas is Jesus Christ. He is the only son of
God who came to earth as a new born baby to die for the sins of every
man. Jesus left all his riches and glory in heaven and chose the Virgin
Mary as His earthly mother, to be born into a world which needed His
redemption so desperately.
Christmas is the celebration and remembrance of the ‘King who was
born to die’. There wouldn’t be a Christmas without Jesus Christ, and it
would not be meaningful to celebrate Christmas if Jesus Christ had not
died for the sins of the world.
Every man has sinned and broken away from God. As a result of this
every man would go to a lost eternity (commonly known as Hell). Jesus
Christ saw this and because He loved mankind so much, He took upon
Himself the form of flesh. He came to this earth, to suffer and die on
the cross, to pay on the cross the price and suffering that man should
pay for his sin in hell.
Three days after He died He rose again from the dead and ascended
back to heaven. Today if any man believes on Jesus Christ, this man will
escape the eternal flames of Hell. So Jesus Christ the ‘true meaning of
Christmas’, provided a way for man to escape hell’s eternal flames. If
any man confesses his sins to Jesus and asks for forgiveness, his sin
will be forgiven.
Scripture reading (John 3:16)
God loved the world so much that He gave us His only begotten son
Jesus, so that if you believe in Jesus, you will not suffer eternally in
hell for your sins, but you will receive eternal life in heaven.
Scripture reading (Romans 10:9)
If you believe from your heart and say with your mouth that Jesus
Christ died for your sins and rose again from the grave after 3 days,
all your sins will be forgiven and you will escape the eternal flames of
hell and receive instead eternal life in heaven.
Christmas is such a joyous time to us because Jesus Christ loved us
so much that He gave His life for our sin, so that we can enjoy eternal
life in heaven with Him for ever and ever.
