Two LTTE suspects arrested

Two LTTE terrorist suspects were arrested by the Puttalam District of the Western Province Intelligence Unit on Monday and handed over to the Chilaw Police for interrogation.

Police said one of them arrested on a tip off given by a three-wheeler taxi driver had tried to mislead the police sleuths by pretending to be a mentally deranged Sinhalese.

Persistent questioning by police had helped to establish his proper identity as a Tamil from the North.

Following interrogation police were able to arrest the other suspect from a flower shop near the Munneswaram Kovil.
