1,800 Sinahla-Tamil untrained teachers to be trained

Under the instructions of Susil Premajayanth, the Minister of Education, steps are now being taken to train all Government teachers who have not been trained so far.

Accordingly, 1800 Sinhala and Tamil untrained teachers will undergo special training for two years from the beginning of next year.

All Zonal Directors of Education have been instructed to furnish details of teachers who are at work in schools without proper training as the Minister hopes to offer a quality service to students from next year onwards” said W.M. Balasooriya, the former Director of Education in Bingiriya. He was addressing a meeting of school Principals in the Kurunegala district held recently at Bingiriya National School.
