Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Kottawa played a high standard of badminton to
clinch both titles in the Girls and Boys events of the All Island
Inter-school Under-12 Badminton Championship conducted by Sri Lanka
Schools Badminton Association at St. Anthony's College, Katugastota
recently.
The Kottawa boys beat Leeds International School, Galle by 4-1 while
Girls crushed Vidura International School, Nawala by 5-0 in the finals.
Eighty teams took part in this year's tournament and Dharmapala
Vidyalaya was the first ever school which won both finals (Boys/Girls)
in the E Division of the tournament's history.
Tharusha Agasthi Wijetilleke who excelled throughout the tournament,
was awarded the Best Performer in the Boys championship while Sithara
Buddhini who paved the way to win the Girls title, bagged the Best
Performer award.
