Injured Jeewan wins in Pakistan

Jeewan Manjula won the eighth stage of the Tour de Pakistan
International Race in Pakistan yesterday. It is interesting to note that
Jeewan and Meemanage Perera who met with an accident during the seventh
stage of the tour recovered well to win the following stage.
Janaka Hemantha, the winner of the previous stage and Meemanage
Perera who won an earlier stage clocked the same time to finish as
fourth. Though Janaka finished fourth in yesterday's race he maintains
his fourth position in the overall standings while the Sri Lanka team
holds onto the top position.
According to the present form of the cyclists it leads to a Sri
Lankan victory. Already the riders have completed a distance of 1,220
kilometres. Yesterday the riders covered a distance of 168 and will have
a rest day today.
Out of the eight stages completed so far Sri Lankan riders have
managed to record wins in 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8 stages.
