Spiritual Leader of Naqshbandi blesses President on his completion of three years in Office

His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, the Spiritual Leader of Naqshbandi - Haqqani Sufi Order blessed President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his completion of three years in Office as President of Sri Lanka, and also for his efforts to rid the country of terrorism and bring peace.

The Spiritual Leader called on the President at Temple Trees yesterday. Governor of Western Province Seyed Alavi Moulana, Presidential Advisor A.H.M. Azwer, Reyhyas Salih and several others were present.

Shaykh Kabbani also wished the President a Happy Birthday!

The World Spiritual Leader paid tribute to the President for treating all communities in the country equally and looking after the welfare of Muslim community in particular.

The Shaykh also praised the efforts of the President in re-setting the Muslims of Mutur in a record period of just two months after they were chased away from their homes by the LTTE.

He also said that he would make every effort in lobbying on behalf of Sri Lanka in the International arena wherever his Order has been established.

The Shaykh said it speaks volumes for the statesmanship of Mahinda Rajapaksa for the contribution he has made towards the Palestinian cause for the last 30 years, and it is a great tribute paid to him when in Ramallah, Palestine, a road has been named after him.

The President said that he always held the teachings of all Religious Leaders in higher esteem.

He thanked Shaykh Kabbani for blessing him and the country, and also for the achievement of everlasting peace in Sri Lanka.
