obtainable as it does not define a singular moment or achievement, but
the cumulative success of an entire life.
The American Biographical Institute is an organisation that for

women through biographical publications. Only a select handful of the
Institute’s total biographies are deemed worthy of this distinction.
Dr. Jayaratne’s distinguished career includes work as a private
sector to the Governor of Southern Province of Sri Lanka; the author of
books on business management and children’s fair tales; a free-lance
journalist; management consultant; and women’s activist.
Dr. Jayaratne has been honoured with numerous awards and recognitions
including being honoured by the President of Sri Lanka, in 2006 with the
International Commemorative Woman of the Year Award for contributions in
the field of Management and other achievements to uplift women and
society.

in the effort and involvement in achieving worthwhile endeavours that
affect society as a whole.
