Drawn game at Peradeniya

Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya fought back to force a draw in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match against Sri Rahula College, Katugastota at the University Grounds, Peradeniya yesterday.

Gurukula Vidyalaya who were struggling at 26 for 2 off 17.1 overs overnight played more positive cricket on the second day to total 155 all out in 67.4 overs. S. Dilanka top scored with a neat 50 with 7 fours. Spinner Amith Tillekeratne took 3 for 60 while Sunimal Dissanayake had figures 3 for 33.

Sri Rahula in their second innings scored 169 for 6 with Nimesha Wanasundera stroking 64. Sri Rahula College 203 and 169 for 6 (Nimesha Wanasundera 64, Amith Tillekeratne 35, C. Dikkumbura 33, S. Divanka 3 for 29, R. Kottegoda 2 for 53).
