Air Force down Undergrads

Air Force got the better out of a Combined University outfit defeating them by 91 points to 76 on the first day of the 46th National Basketball Championships at the St. Joseph's Girls School Basketball courts, Nugegoda yesterday.

The winners led 51-36 at half time. Ravi Dodangoda 34 and Indika Mahesh 17 did the bulk of the scoring for the Airmen while Chamath Serasinghe 30 and Aravinda 18 were the main scorers for the losers.

In a women's match Colombo beat Jaffna by 42 points to 22 after Colombo leading 32-13 at the breather. Erandi Rajapakse ( 13) and Amaya Kalpani (8) were the main point getters for Colombo while Synthu Bamini(9) scored for the losers. (RA)
