Indian mother urges daughter to return home

An Indian mother is in desperate search of her only daughter who has gone missing since last month. She said Casilda Natasha Cardozo came to Sri Lanka on October 28. She seeks public help to trace her daughter's whereabouts.

Goa born, Casilda was living with her mother in Oman. She informed her mother who was returning home that she was going for a stroll but never returned home. The mother panicked when her 17-year-old daughter never showed up even after night fall. She had called hospitals and emergency numbers to locate her daughter thinking that she might have met with an accident for some harm had befallen her.

Later when she inquired from airport authorities it was revealed Casilda had taken flight to Colombo on October 28.

"I am a single mother. My husband expired when my daughter was one-year-old. I was working in Dubai and my daughter was raised by her grandmother," she told the Daily News.

She said the closest reason for her daughters' disappearance would be her grandmother's demise last year.

"She was very close to her. Since there was no one to look after my daughter back in Goa, I had to bring her with me to Oman," she added.

Casilda had wanted to go back to Goa.

But the mother who worried about the financial aspect insisted her to bear for one year. Following her daughter's disappearance she went to Goa from Muscat and came to Colombo."The system here shows that my daughter is still in Sri Lanka. Please help me find her. I will not leave without my daughter," the worried mother said.

"Please come home. Mama is in great pain," she posts a message to her missing daughter. Casilda's passport No. is G 87172259.

Information about Casilda can be given over 0778292800.
