ALC Kantale to issue land permits

The office of the Assistant Land Commissioner (ALC) in Kantale of the Trincomalee district, is in the process of issuing permits to those who have no valid document to live in the Government lands in the Kantale town, on the Habarana-Trincomalee road.

Reportedly, around 350 people, most of them are doing business in the town, have no land deeds or permits issued temporarily by the Department of Land Commissioner.

These people have been living in the Kantale town over a period of around 60 years, it is also reported.

Most probably, they will have permits issued by the Kantale land office for their lands by the end of 2008.
