Nalanda Gedige location lacks facilities

The local and foreign tourists visiting the historical Nalanda Gedige located in the Matale district are inconvenienced due to the lack of even the basic amenities.

The Archaeological Department can collect a considerable income from the tourists if they provide the necessary facilities for them. But at present such a situation has not been created. According to records, this historical structure was constructed within 8th century in accordance with the tradition of the Pallawa.
