Granollers replaces Nadal

Marcel Granollers, ranked 56, will replace world number one Rafael Nadal in Spain's squad to face Argentina in the Davis Cup final this month, captain Emilio Sanchez-Vicario announced on Tuesday.

Nadal confirmed on Monday that a knee injury has forced him to withdraw from the squad for the November 21-23 final in the Argentine city of Mar del Plata.

Aside from 22-year-old Granollers, who will make his Davis Cup debut, the team is composed of 12th ranked David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, ranked 16, and Feliciano Lopez, ranked 31, with Santiago Ventura as first reserve. They will face an Argentine squad led by eighth ranked Juan Martin del Potro and world number 11 David Nalbandian.
