Budget 2009 much relief to all sections of people

Applause and much praise is observed from all sections of the populace in Kegalle district with regard to the excellent budget presented in Parliament for 2009 in November.

Much praise come from the poorer segments of the communities from the rural areas and the middle class living in the urban localities not depending entirely on their salaries they derive either as employees in the Government sector or in the private enterprise, as they get additional income along with food-stuffs which they have grown in their homegardens.

These segments of society now feel to what a extent their toil and sweat in indulging in homegarden cultivations have contributed in enhancing their income by sticking to the Government's programme Api-Wawamu-Rata-Nagamu, enunciated in the "Mahinda Chintana". The concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The encouragement created in the majority of the populace to grow their own food wherever possible has influenced magnificently in the food crops cultivation process everywhere.

The 2009 budget presented in Parliament recently has brought much solace and convenience and relief not only to all employees but also to all cultivators of food crops including the farmer community indulged in paddy cultivation. This was observed by a number of retired teachers and prominent principals who have rendered much services to society.

They observed that the 2009 budget presented in Parliament by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa was so far the best budget speech ever presented in the past two decades of years as praised by the former Zonal Director of Education of Kegalle J.M. Premarathne and a retired former principal of a school in Kegalle area I. Gunatilake of Deewela Pallegama who was a staunch supporter of the UNP.

The whole country other than a section of the UNP opposition group and the JVP praise the announced budget speech. It is clearly noted in the Kegalle area other than the UNP fanatics and the JVP sections, praise the President for presenting a quite people friendly budget for the masses to feel its influence at these times of high cost of living.

Even a former organiser and an executive committee member of the UNP and an ex UNP Parliamentarian commented the 2009 budget has brought much relief to all sections of the people including the poorest of the poor, the Samurdhi recipients.

They commented all patriotic citizenry in Kegalle district and everywhere praise the President, his Government, and those political groups who extend their co-operation and support to Government to crush terrorism and the terrorists not to rise again, and to bring this country under one umbrella without the least division.

The Government has provided so much of relief for the masses in the 2009 budget speech while the Government spends billions and billions of rupees to crush terrorism. The masses have accepted the view of the President that terrorism and the terrorists should he annihilated and the masses are convinced the President and the Government are on the correct path in the development process and to bring peace and prosperity to all in the near future.
