O/L Exam from December 8-20

COLOMBO: The GCE Ordinary Level examination will begin on December 8 and continue until December 20, according to the Department of Examinations.

The examination will be held in 5300 examination centers. Approximately 300,000 candidates will be sitting for the examination under both new and old syllabuses. Examinations Commissioner Anura Edirisingha pointed out that all the sections of GCE question papers have been revised along with the marking scheme. He added that paper marking will begin on December 28 and go on till January 6, 2009.

Teachers, administrators, principals along with another 75,000 staffers will be engaged in the 2008 GCE examinations, department sources said.
