The ashes of Major General Janaka Perera and his wife Vajira, were
interred at the Panadura Minuwanpitiya Public cemetery on October 30 by
their children. Janaka Perera was born in Panadura.
SP new Governor assumes duties

New Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Saliya Ellawala
will assume duties today. He is the sixth Governor of the Sabaragamuwa
Provincial Council.
Lanka-Australia discuss tsunami monitoring technology
Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services Minister Rishad Bathiudeen
discussed a range of issues related to natural disaster management
including exchange of knowledge and technology on tsunami monitoring
with senior Australian officials on Monday.
The Minister on a visit to Canberra had discussions with Peter Koob,
Acting Director General of Emergency Management Australia attached to
the Attorney General's Department.
The meeting was organised and coordinated by the Sri Lanka High
Commission in Canberra.
Medicina Alternativa anniversary
The 46th Anniversary of the Medicina Alternativa (Scientific
methology and integrated medicines) will be marked by a ceremony at the
BMICH at 3 p.m on November 7.
This will be followed by workshops and presentations by eminent
scientists and clinicians until Nov 9, held under the aegis of the world
congress of medicines.
Bharatanatyam Recital
A Bharatanatyam recital by the dance students of the Indian Cultural
Centre will be held on November 7 at 6.00 p.m. at the Centre's premises
at 133, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo - 04.
International photo exhibition third leg
The third leg of the international photo exhibition on Tiger
atrocities was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris yesterday.
Brigadier General, Alain Hamballe, a senior officer at the French
National Security Secretariat and an expert on South Asian Affairs was
the Chief Guest at the occasion.

general meeting will be held on November 9 at 'Sawsiripaya -
