Tokyo SuperMix Achieves ISO-9001

Tokyo SuperMix ready mix concrete, a member of the Tokyo Cement Group, recently received ISO 9001:2000 from Certification International (CI) UK with accreditation from UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).

This certification was awarded to the main ready mix concrete plant at Paliyagoda and will be extended to cover all other units in the second stage.

Joint Managing Director, Tokyo Cement Company (Lanka) PLC S.R. Gnanam said "The ISO accreditation is an acknowledgement of our superior Supermix quality policy that addresses 'Quality' and 'Durability' through using raw material and technology of very high standards. Through this ISO 9001 system, the company aims to achieve continuous improvement of Tokyo Supermix products and services that will enable a higher level of customer satisfaction at a reduced cost."

The QICS auditors subjected the Supermix quality management system to a rigorous audit process where special analysis of continuous improvement in the organisation was made before awarding the ISO-9001 certification.

In developing this quality system, Supermix worked closely with their raw material suppliers, notably sand, metal and their main raw material Cement, which is supplied from their own production facilities and are also certified for ISO 9001.

Gnanam commented, "Tokyo SuperMix's unstinted dedication to continually improve quality and strengthen the technological capability of our plants is a hallmark of the Tokyo Cement business philosophy."

Tokyo Supermix Ready Mix Concrete is a highly superior product with correct and consistent quality in contrast to hand mixed or small machine mixed concrete.
