Police officers must serve people with dignity - Civil Aviation

Police officers are bound to protect the good name of their service,
said Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
The Minister was speaking at the Civil Security Committee Meeting at
the Singapore Welfare Centre at Siribopura, Hambantota.
The Minister paying a glowing tribute to the Police, said that they
are performing their duties under trying circumstances. Police personnel
should be humble enough to accept both brickbats and bouquets in equal
manner. He said certain sections of the people fail to understand the
difficulties that police personnel and tend to blame them for anything
and everything. Police officers should serve the masses without bias.
The Minister said that there is a section of police officers who
indulge in activities very unbecoming of their profession. These type of
police officers bring disrepute to the service.
"A Police officer must bear in mind that he or she is born to serve
the people with dignity and grace," the Minister said in conclusion. |
