The Criminal Investigation Department who took over the investigations into the "Sakvithi Scam" had deployed two Gazetted Officers attached to the CID to probe the incident.

CID DIG Sisira Mendis said the two Gazetted Officers who had been assigned to probe the incident will persue all the available evidence recorded in this connection and will take stern action against the culprits.

The two Gazetted officers also will take steps to obtain assistance from Interpol to trace the main culprit Sakvithi Ranasinghe who had left the country.

The CID will also obtain the assistance of the Immigration and Emigration Department to ascertain the details about "Sakvithi" leaving the country whether on his own passport or on any other travel documents.
