The demonstration was organised by an organisation described as the
International Committee Against Disappearance, in its advance publicity
said there will be a large participation at the protest, which was to
coincide with the exhibition of LTTE terrorist brutalities and
anti-democratic activities being held the same day at the Sri Lanka
Embassy at The Hague.
When the exhibition opened with large photographs showing LTTE
atrocities against Tamil and other democratic politicians and the
brutalities carried out against civilians, displayed outside the Sri
Lanka Embassy, the protest demonstrators who numbered less than ten
dispersed, within minutes. The anti-LTTE activities of Sri Lankan
organisations in European countries are now facing up to the challenge
of the massive pro-LTTE propaganda being carried out throughout Europe,
by sections of the Tamil Diaspora and pro-LTTE NGOs based in Europe. The
exhibition that focuses on terrorism and brutalities of the LTTE through
the past 30 years has drawn large audiences in both London UK and The
Hague in the Netherlands.
The exhibition will be held next week in Paris, France.
It is organised by the Photography Unit of the Media Division,
Presidential Secretariat; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka,
and the Sri Lanka Diplomatic Missions in the respective countries. |
