Shehan Ambepitiya 'golden boy'
S. T. Arasu
In fact, I am so pleased and proud to pen this worthy sports
appreciation.
Whilst acknowledging and congratulating our student athlete an
18-years-old 'golden boy' - Shehan Ambepitiya, who had recently
completed neatly, a grand sprint double, by winning the boys 100 metres
and 200 metres, with a record breaking performances and also followed up
by running the main anchor lap splendidly in the boys 4x100 metres
concluded event (obtaining three golds) at the Commonwealth Youth Games,
that was held in Pune, India.
I would like to stress and appeal here humbly to the energetic Sports
Minister, the high sports development authorities and the Athletic
Association of Sri Lanka, to consider seriously, for arranging, to
extend all the necessary facilities, training (coaching) and comforts to
coach up or promote further, this new find, talented lad, for a better
progress and future interest of Shehan and country's sports development
at the quickest or earliest opportunity, without any delay or
postponement as this hero lad the 'golden boy', absolutely and fully
deserves all support and encouragement from our State (country) indeed.
Who knows, he will shine extremely well one day like the famous and
popular Duncan White and Susanthika Jayasinghe of our country. Well
done, good luck, ahead, Shehan! keep it up, lad!
There is a great saying, that I would like to cite or quote here (as
appended) before I wind up, my submission: "Genius does, what it must,
and talent does, what it can!"
