Khemadasa bestowed upon us a rich heritage of music - President
President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a condolence message on the death of
Music Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa said Khemadasa has bestowed upon us a
rich heritage of music. "This highly outstanding artiste was born at
Thalpitiya, Panadura and had his education both at Sri Sumangala
Vidayalaya and St. John's College, Panadura," President Rajapaksa said.
The President said: "Khemadasa began his music career at Sangeetha
Manjaree, Maradana and went onto the zenith of the career which
enriched songs, dramas, teledramas and above all the cinema right
throughout his long sojourn in the field.
Premasiri Khemadasa has bestowed upon us a rich heritage of music
which included music traditions from the universe as well.
I also pay my respects to his rare qualities including his political
wisdom and people friendly manners.
It is the duty of the music loving Sri Lankans to continue his
mission. that is the greatest respect they can pay in this great
musicians. I convey my condolence to the bereaved family and his
