Lanka wins best stall in Moscow

Sri Lanka Tourism’s stall won the ‘Best Stall Award’ among 100 stalls, including some of the best names in the tourism industry of the world at the LEISURE 2008 Travel & Trade, concluded in Moscow, recently.

Sri Lanka Tourism showcased Sri Lanka as the best destination in the Asian region at the Luxury Leisure 2008, the largest and most important consumer oriented travel and tourism event held at Crocus Expo - International Exhibition Centre, in Moscow.

The stall in striking red and blue, with the structure of the dagaba (Temple) as the stall roof was unique and attracted the crowd. Total of 19 Sri Lankan tour companies participated at this event. With 16 billion dollar spent by seven million Russian tourists in 2006, Tourist arrival to Sri Lanka increased rapidly in the last two years.
