Fernando 'birdies' HNB Golf title

The two-day Millennium Golf Tournament played over the weekend was sponsored by Hatton National Bank for the second successive year and conducted by the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

Golf has proved attractive enough to draw participants and there were a good many teeing off on both days striving to give of their best to come out on top.

Amidst the enthusiasm and the competitive spirit that prevailed, Shinran Fernando did well with 134 to register the best aggregate Nett score to be the winner, the runner-up was Damindra Fernando with a score of 140.

Romesh Abhayaratne with a score of 153 had the best aggregate gross score to be the winner, whilst Nirmal Hettiarachy was the runner-up with 157.

The winner of the second day best gross score was Mohan Ratnayake with 80 gross and the winner of the second day best Nett score was Sunil Udalagama with 69 nett.
