Wap Magul on religious note in A'pura

The Anuradhapura district Wap Magul ceremony was held yesterday at the historic Isurumuniya tracks of paddy fields with North Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake participating as the chief guest.

Provincial Agriculture Minister K.H. Nandasena also participated.

The Wap Magul ceremony was held amidst Buddhist religious observances by the Maha Sangha and rituals to God Pillaiyar and other deities in charge of the Kingdom of construction of tanks (Rajarata) with the participation of a large number of farmers in the district.
