Court stops auction sale

Colombo Commercial High Court Judge Rohini Walgama issued an enjoining order stopping Commercial Bank from conducting a public sale by auction of property at No. 19, Rohini Road, Wellawatte.

The petitioner among other things said the bank has acted in a commercially unreasonable manner and it has abused its powers.

Spencer T. Srikantha Attorney-at-Law with S. Welivita appeared for the plaintiff. The enjoining order issued by the High Court Judge is returnable on the first week of November 2008.
