Kumamoto Artpolis
Kumamoto Artpolis (KAP) - Architecture Through Communication, a
worldwide travelling exhibition featuring 73 images and sketches of
outstanding Japanese architecture will be on display at the National Art
Gallery 106, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7 from October 28 to
November 2. The exhibition has been jointly organised by the Embassy of
Japan in Sri Lanka, the Japan Foundation and Vibhavi Academy of Fine
Arts to promote cultural exchanges between Japan and Sri Lanka.
Admission is free from 10 am to 6 pm.
Law Faculty Exhibition
The Faculty of Law, University of Colombo will hold an exhibition on
October 24 and 25 to mark its 60th anniversary celebrations. The theme
of the exhibition is 'Access to Law and Legal Aid: Dissemination of
knowledge and service'.
The exhibition will be held at the Law Faculty's ground floor.
Entrance is free.
Gurukula colours night
The Colours Night of Gurukula National School, Kelaniya organised by
its Principal Anil Geeth and tutorial staff will be held on October 24
at 5 pm at the school main hall. Chief guests will be the Educational
Services Minister Nirmala Kotelawala and Labour Minister Mervyn Silva.
Computer donation
A ceremony to donate computers to Ambanganga South Ela Junior School,
a remote school in Polonnaruwa district will be held on October 27 at 10
am initiated by the Manager of the People's Bank, Kelaniya branch and
its staff.
Special Arts Festival
ESCO Rehab Sri Lanka will hold the annual Very Special Arts Festival
on November 30 to mark International Day of the Disabled at the ESCO
headquarters.
The Arts Festival includes several competition such as singing,
dancing, drama, sewing and handicrafts. Winners will be awarded prizes.

Diocesan Council
The 123rd Sessions of Diocesan Council of the Diocese of Colombo,
Church of Ceylon will be held on October 25, 26 and 27.
An Even Song will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the Living
Saviour, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 on October 24 at 5.00 p.m.
The Diocesan Council will be chaired by the Bishop of Colombo, Rt.
Rev. Duleep de Chickera. The Council consists of all the Clergy holding
the licence of the Bishop of Colombo of the Diocese of Colombo and
representatives of the parishes of the Diocese of Colombo.
The Chief Guests at the opening sessions of the Council will be Dr.
Lalith Perera and Dr. Selvie Perera. The Sessions will start at 8.30
a.m. on October 25 at the Diocesan Council Chambers, Bauddhaloka Mawatha.
Wildlife photo exhibition
An exhibition of photographs of wildlife taken in Sri Lanka, India
and South African wild parks and rehabilitating sanctuaries by
Commissioner of Official Languages Senarath Gunasena will be held from
October 24 to November 5.
The exhibition will be held at the Auditorium of Colombo France
Friendship Association, 11, Barnes Place, Colombo 7 between 10. a.m. and
6 p.m.
