Attempt to attack Lankan envoy's Office in Chennai thwarted

India: An unruly group had attempted to forcibly enter the premises of the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commissioner's Office at No. 196, TTK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai 600-018 yesterday around 15.00 hours.

In their attempt to break in, they had damaged the Mission's security post and its Notice Board. A stone thrown from outside and directed at the Mission had hit one of the officers of the Mission.

This matter was brought to the notice of the Indian authorities and action was taken immediately to intensify security for the premises and personnel in the Officer of the Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai.
