Seminar

A seminar on the role of Micro Finance in achieving the millennium development goals, will be held on October 24, commencing at 9.30 a.m.

The venue is Ananda Samarakoon Vidyalaya, Wewala, Piliyandala.

This seminar is held to mark the UN Day and is organised by the Lions Club, Piliyandala and it is sponsored by the People's Bank.

Micro Finance loans for selected entrepreneurs will also be disbursed on this day.

Handwork exhibition

A handwork exhibition and sale will be held on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bible House, 293, Galle Road, Colombo 3.

Memorial lecture

The second memorial lecture to commemorate the great engineering giant late Dr. A. N. S. Kulasinghe will be held on Friday, October 24 at 5.15 p.m. at the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka at 120/15, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7.

Consecration ceremony

The consecration of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Raddolugama will take place on Saturday, October 25 at 5 p.m. presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis, Archbishop of Colombo.

A religious lecture will also be conducted by Moulavi Al Haj M.T. Hilurhdeen (Falahi) after Isha prayers.
