PM China, Japan bound
Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka will leave for China and
Japan this week with an official delegation. In China, he will visit
Kunming and Chengdu, capital cities of Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces. In
Yunnan, he will meet with provincial authorities for discussion on
promoting relations particularly economic and cultural relations between
Sri Lanka and Yunnan Province.
He will also meet the staff and students at Yunnan Nationalities
University and address them on relations between China and Sri Lanka
focusing on recent developments.
In Chengdu, he will deliver the keynote address at the First Western
China International Cooperation Forum convened under the auspices of the
9th Western China International Economy and Trade Fair.
He will also meet the Provincial authorities in Sichuan and exchange
views to further promote economic and business links between Sichuan
Province and Sri Lanka. He will address the students at the South Asia
Institute of Sichuan University which is one of the largest higher
educational institutes in China. In Japan he will attend the Fifth World
Buddhist Summit which will be held in Kobe City, Hyogo.
