UDA tie-up with AIT on E-learning

The Ministry of Urban Development & Sacred Area Development and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) signed up to establish the E-learning program with AIT's Internet Education and Research Laboratory (IntERLab) and the Urban Development Authority to bring distance education programs relevant to the needs of the Ministry of Urban Development & Sacred Area Development and the UDA.

This important tie-up came into agreement after Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Urban Development & Sacred Area Development, visited AIT in Bangkok in May 2008. According to the agreement the AIT will establish and maintain an E-learning center at the UDA. This will enable a core group of IT professionals from the UDA, with the recommendation of the University of Moratuwa, to be trained at AIT Campus in Bangkok, Thailand.
