Piyatileka new Secretary

R. V. D. Piyatileka, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Industrial Development assumed duties as Secretary of the Ministry last week.

Piyatileka has been working from 1975 in the Industries Ministry was promoted as Assistant Director in 1990, Deputy Director in 1991 and Director in 1995.

He was appointed as Acting Secretary in 2004 and he functioned as acting Secretary.

Piyatileka holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration from the Sri Jayawardenapura University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from the Research Institute of Management Science, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.

The new secretary said that he intends to take few progressive steps top keep up the Ministry.
