DFCC Vardhana Bank joins Lanka Bell payment network

Another 40 payment points have been added to telecommunications giant
Lanka Bell's islandwide bill settlement network, with the company's new
partnership with DFCC Vardhana Bank Ltd.
Lanka Bell bills can now be settled at any of the DFCC Bank's
branches and the money will be credited to the subscriber's account on
the same day.
Lanka Bell Managing Director Prasad Samarasinghe said the arrangement
with DFCC Vardhana Bank demonstrates Lanka Bell's commitment to
continuously enhance convenience for subscribers.
"We welcome DFCC Bank to our network and are grateful for their
support," he said.
Lanka Bell also offers bill settlement through the branch networks of
11 banks, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Sampath Bank, Bank of Ceylon,
Hatton National Bank, Peoples Bank, HSBC, Nations Trust Bank, Standard
Chartered Bank, Seylan Bank, National Savings Bank and NDB Bank as well
as 350 plus Singer Sri Lanka outlets.
Bharti Airtel signs IT management agreement with IBM
Bharti Airtel Lanka, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Limited - one of
the leading telecom companies entered into an agreement with IBM to
manage its comprehensive IT infrastructure and application requirements
for the Sri Lanka market.
The agreement forms part of Airtel's innovative business model based
on outsourcing of IT and Networks to achieve business leadership through
enhanced performance and efficiencies.
The agreement takes into account the consolidation, transformation
and management of comprehensive IT infrastructure and applications of
Bharti Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd by IBM Sri Lanka, and also includes
customer facing applications such as billing and customer relationship
management (CRM).
