Tennis coaching classes in Kandy

Coaching classes in tennis are being conducted by K. S. H. M. Razik at the Kandy Garden Club Courts. There are about 50 students in training. Razik has been involved in coaching for the last 30 years. Roshun Razik his son who represented Sri Lanka in Davis Cup was coached by him. Among the present students Shaam Niyas, Inaam Niyas, Azaam Niyas, Brindley Weerasekera all of Trinity College and Hiruni Weerasekera, Abeyrajitha Monoharan and Nimaya Ganhewa all performed well in tournaments conducted in the Kandy District.

Inaam Niyas of Trinity College is the most promising player out of the lot. He has been performing well in the tournaments conducted this year. His recent performances are winning the U 16 singles & doubles in the Earls Regency Hard court tournament, winning the U 18 singles & U 16 doubles in the Mayors Cup at Matale and winning U 15, U 17 and U 19 singles in the tournament conducted by the Kandy Sports Foundation.
