Jithmie into semis

Sri Lanka's Jithmie Jayawickrema became the only Sri Lankan to make a significant impact in the ongoing Junior ITF Tennis Tournament winning a place in the semi final in the girls singles event at the SLTA Courts Greenpath yesterday.

Jithmie Jayawickrema beat India's Ikttesh Chahal in straight sets 6-2,6-1. She will meet India's Aishwaraya Agarwal in the semi final in the second semi final India's Arzoo Malik will take on Veena Doungkeaw of Thailand at 9am today.

Valdik Munshaw (India) beat Shehan Gomesz (SL) 2-5 (Retired), Kriangkrai Prajoubphansri (Tha) beat Naveen Saai (India) 6-1,5=7,5-1,(0-15),Kitipong Chienwichai (Tha) beat Guyanga Weerasekera (SL) 5-7,5-3,(30-15) Retired Cramps.

Saai Kartik (India) beat Kongpop Lertchai (Tha) 7-5,64.
