Trinity take Under 14 division one rugby title

Trinity College, Kandy who gave a superb performance beat the last week's champions Isipathana College by 14 points (two goals) to 7 (1 goal) in the under 14 All Island Division one (10-A side Rugby tournament held at Havelock Park Grounds on 4th and 5th October.

The lads from hill capital Trinity who played an excellent game beat all the teams they confronted, for two days in this tournament. The Plate championship was won by St. Peter's College who beat Vidyartha College, Kandy 21 points to 7. The Bowl Championship was won by C. W. W. Kannangara M/V who beat St. Thomas Prep (Colombo 3) 26 points to 7 while the Shield Championship was won by Maliyadewa College, Kurunegala who beat St. Aloysius College, Galle with a big marjin of 40 points to nil.

More than 300 participants from 23 schools from the Island took part in this grand finale, which was organised by the Sri Lanka Schools RFA and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd.

The chief guest was David Saudan (incoming Managing Director Nestle Lanka Ltd) while the guest of honour was Bandula Egodage (External Affairs & Activations Manager Nestle Lanka Ltd.) The final was officiated by Priyanth Gunaratne.
