Welagedera - national badminton coach

Pradeep Welagedera has been reappointed as the national badminton coach of the Sri Lanka Badminton Association and for the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games to be worked off in Pune, India.

Welagedera also had the honour of touring China for the Beijing Olympic Games as the coach of Thilini Jayasinghe. He first qualified as a coach in 1995 from the National Olympic Committee and has also successfully completed the Level Two badminton examination.

In addition he was the junior national badminton coach for the Krishna Kaithan tournament in Chennai, India. He was also successful in the advance grade coaching training program conducted by the Sri Lanka Badminton Association under the guidance of Asian Badminton Confederation in 2002.
