Neurologist, drugs sent by special flight

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry immediately sent a neurologist and drugs by air to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital on the instructions of Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva following the blast, a Ministry spokesman said.

He said around 85 patients injured in the Anuradhapura bomb blast more being treated at the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital. A neurologist and drugs were required to treat and perform operations on those patients. The doctor and the drugs were sent by a special flight.

Minister de Silva has also appointed a committee to coordinate between relevant institutions and run a smooth service when treating war heroes and provide them treatment and care. Arrangements have been made to give priority in Colombo National Hospital, Kantale and Anuradhapura hospitals to injured war heroes.
