Bloomfield clinch Cambrian Cricket Sixes Title

The third consecutive All Island Inter Club six-a-side Cricket Tournament organised by the Cambrian Cricket Wing worked off during the weekend at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, De Soysa Park, Moratuwa.

Twenty four leading clubs of the island participated and in the final Bloomfield C & AC beat Army Sports Club led by Sri Lanka Cricketer and the emerging player of the year award winner Ajantha Mendis. Army taking the first lease scored 52 runs and the Bloomfielders notched up the required runs for the loss of two wickets.

The best batsman and the best bowler awards was carried away by Rajah Ganeshan and Selvin Perera respectively and both of them are from Lankan Sports Club while the Man of the Series award was won by Sri Lanka Cricketer and Captain of the winning team T. M. Dilshan.

Chief scores: Army, SC - 52, Bloomfield A&AC - 53 for 2
