Leftouter Vijitha Perera showed his former prowess when he netted a hat-trick of goals to help Old Bens Veterans to register a convincing 4 goals to 1 win against Fortuna SC, Kelaniya played at St. Benedict's College grounds.

Old Bens Veterans are scheduled to play their 2nd round game of the Masters Soccer Tournament on October 11 at Kotahena against Old Zahirians-SC.

Vijitha scored the first goal in the 7th minute, second in the 10th minute and completed the hat-trick in the 17th minute. At half time the Old Bens Veterans led 3-0. Down 0-3, Fortuna SC attacked but were unable to pierce the strong defence of their opponents.

Old Bens Veterans increased the lead in the closing stages of the match with a superb goal scored by Bruno Fernando.

N. Nonis hit the net for the consolation goal for Fortuna SC will just two minuets the final whistle.

For Old Bens Veterans Vijitha, Waldo Fernando, Sharman Caldera, Nishantha Perera, Donald Fernando and Martinde Pores impressed while Adrian Vindarampulle former Bens and national player, Nonis, Zamath, Sarath, Jagath and Samitha played well for the Kelaniya side.
