SLPA acting Managing Director

Captain Nihal Keppetipola assumed duties as the new acting Managing Director of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA).

A product of Dharmaraja College, Kandy and from the stock of Ceylon Shipping Corporation, Captain Keppetipola took over as the Acting Managing Director of the SLPA on September 25.

He joined in 1990 as a pilot and rose to become the Deputy Harbour Master in 1999, then to the post of Harbour Master in the same year.

During the then Ceylon Port (Cargo) Corporation, the Ceylon Port Commission and the present Sri Lanka Ports Authority the highest achievement of a Master Mariner had been the position of Harbour Master.
