The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) will take stern action against supermarkets if they sell items at a higher prices, Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operative and Consumer Services Ministry's Secretary Dr. R. M. K. Ratnayaka said.

Addressing a media briefing at the Information Department yesterday, he said consumers can complain if higher prices are indicated in the bill other than the prices displayed in the consumer items.

He requested consumers to forward their bills to the CAA.
