Mahajana Cheenaya presented to President

COLOMBO: The informative publication Mahajana Cheenaya (People's China) was presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday at Temple Trees, by the China-Sri Lanka Friendship Society President Amaradasa Gunawardena, President's media sources said.

Mahajana Cheenaya had been compiled in Sinhala by the China-Sri Lanka Friendship Society, to mark its Silver Jubilee (1981-2007) and with the main objective of broadening the knowledge of the student population.

The publication compiled from the works of the society's President Amaradasa Gunawardena and members Wilmon Wickremasinghe and Dinith de Silva, is to be published by the Educational Publications Department to all school libraries islandwide.

The Chinese Envoy in Sri Lanka Ye Dabo, Secretary of the China-Sri Lanka Friendship Society Guthilla Wickremasinghe, Wilmon Wickremasinghe and Dinith De Silva also participated at this event, the sources said.
