GCE A/L results out in December
Dharma Sri ABEYRATNE
The Examinations Department will release the GCE Advanced Level
Examination results by the end of December, a source from the
Examinations Department told the Daily News.
The Advanced Level Examination was held last August. The answer
scripts marking process is now being carried out in several answer
scripts evaluation centres throughout the country.
The trade union action of some Teachers' Trade Unions has impacted
the delay of issuing results since some teachers' trade unions had taken
steps to boycott paper marking process demanding to rectify salary
anomalies. "The trade union action has become the main cause delaying
the release of results on time", Examinations Commissioner General Anura
Edirisinghe said.
In addition, the computer system of Examinations Department has
reached its highest capacity as the Examinations' Department is busy
with the activities of several other examinations which have already
been held and scheduled to be held in future such as the GCE Ordinary
Level Examination. "Most probably this situation will affect on the
issuing of results" in time, the Commissioner said. |
