Pakistan's Bajaur operation kills 50 militants in two days
Pakistan: Pakistan's security forces have killed some 50 militants in
northwestern Pakistan's Bajaur tribal region in the past two days, said
an army spokesman on Tuesday. The security forces, backed gunship
helicopters, bombed hideouts of local Taliban militants in different
parts of the restive Bajaur agency, the spokesman Major Murad Khan told
reporters.
The military operation, starting on Aug. 6, has killed more than 100
militants. Some security forces personnel and civilians were also dead
during the seven-week fighting.
Fresh fighting erupted early Tuesday when the security forces engaged
with the militants near Khar, main town of Bajaur agency, reports said.
