SLPA signs new agreements for bunkering
Jaya Container Terminal of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), recently
signed agreements with several institutions, following the recent
Supreme Court decision to take over the bunkering tank facility owned by
the Lanka Marine Services Ltd; at Bloemendhal in Colombo.
Accordingly a new agreement was signed recently, between the Jaya
Container Terminal Ltd; and Lanka IOC for storage and marketing of
bunker fuel and lubricant. The agreement was signed between the
Directors of Jaya Container Terminal Ltd; Dr.Priyath Bandu Wickrama and
Mr. W.G.Samarathunga and the Managing Director of Lanka IOC
Mr.R.Ramakrishnan on 19.09.2008 at SLPA.
After taking over the bunkering tank facility at Bloemendhal owned by
Lanka Marine Services Ltd;, following the Supreme Court decision, SLPA
has launched a number of future developmental steps, with the initiative
of its Acting Chairman Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama.
In the future, SLPA will work as a banker of bunker fuel. It will
also receive the assistance of all licensed bunker institutions to
implement the process as a much productive service as well.
As an initial step of this new process, Jaya Container Terminal ltd;
signed another two bunkering agreements on September 22 with Lanka
Bunkering Services and Lanka Maritime Services Ltd. |
