Kandy District women's champions

Kandy District Hockey Association lifted the women's Hockey
Championship title for six years in a row when they beat Sri Lanka
Schools Hockey Association 4-0 in the finals of the 18th Womens Senior
Hockey Nationals organised by the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation and played
at Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla on Sunday.
Kandy Lasses playing fast and constructive hockey virtually won the
championship title in the first half itself when they led 3-0 lead in
the first half.
Sounding the boards for the Kandy District HA were the two former
stickers from Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya right extreme Chathuri
Wijesuriya (2) and centre forward and former Sri Lanka Captain Shyama
Kumari Ranasinghe (2).
Ajith Jayasena and Yvonne Darling umpired.
Kandy District HA completely dominated this tournament and their goal
line was crossed just twice once by Galle HA and Uva HA. Kandy HA scored
25 goals against their opponents.
In the semi finals Kandy HA beat Uva 3-1 and Sri Lanka Schools beat
Colombo HA 1-0.
In the right for third place Colombo HA beat Uva HA 6 -0.
The results of other matches played by the champions Kandy HA were
beat Uva HA 7-0, beat Galle HA 8-1, and beat Colombo HA 3-0.
