Colombo, Otters and Wennappuwa register victories

Colombo Basketball Club beat Buffalo Basketball Club by 79 points to 63 in their match of the Otters Diamond Jubilee Invitation Basketball Tournament played at Otters Courts on Sunday. After leading 54-35 at half time.

Jagath Kulatunge (37) played a key role in their success ably supported by Harshana Yatawara (12). Pavithra Obeysekera (22) and Thanushka Wanigasekera (18) made a valiant attempt for the losers. Colombo’s Jagath Kulatunge was adjudged the Boat Player of the match.

Otters Aquatic Club scored a convincing 85-64 win over Old Bens after leading 44-34 at half time in another match played at the same venue.

Excellent shooting by Gayan Meedeniya (30) and Shanaka Perera (23) helped Otters to emerge victorious while Nishan Eranda (21) stood out for the losers. Gayan Meedeniya was picked as the Best Player of the match.

Wennappuwa Knights scored a smashing 70-49 win over Police in another match played at the same venue.

Malinda Fernando (30) and Virantha Bastian (12) stood out for Wennappuwa who led 25-22 at the breather. Buddhika Kumadapperuma (13) and Sujith Master (9) excelled for Police. Malinda Fernando was adjudged the Best Player of the match.
