The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry has made arrangements to supply medical care and assistance to War Heroes in the North under the direction of Healthcare and Nutrition Minister, a Ministry spokesman said.

He said Minister de Silva has also instructed the authorities on precautions that should be taken for the protection of War Heroes.

Prof. Ravindra Fernando of the Medical Faculty, University of Colombo will provide a special training to medical staff of Anuradhapura and Vavuniya Hospitals on facing an emergency.

According to the spokesman, arrangements have been made to send 10 doctors every month to Northern hospitals. Medicine and medical equipment will also be supplied uninterruptedly.

A special discussion in this regard was held at the Ministry yesterday with the participation of Minister de Silva, Prof. Fernando, Ministry officials and Armed Forces.
